Janet Stephens brings Ancient Roman Hair to Life.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending a lecture at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, given by the lovely, talented and interesting Janet Stephens.
Ms. Stephens has been a professional hairstylist for 17 years and works out of Baltimore's Studio 921 Salon and Day Spa. In her spare time she studies Roman artwork and history, and has become somewhat of an amatuer archeologist, in that she recreates ancient hairstyles the women would've worn, using similar tools and methods of the day. It really is quite marvelous!
